Here's another interesting musical tidbit. Do you remember the Beach Boys hit "Sloop John B"? It was originally called "The Wreck Of The John B" and was a hit of the folk group The Weavers back in the 50's. It was written for them by their #1 fan, (who never missed a performance when they were playing in Greenwich Village) Carl Sandburg (the famous poet). Two of the members of the group were Pete Seeger and Woody Guthrie. The group was blacklisted as communists during the McCarthy era when they published the song "If I Had A Hammer".
