On the Jersey governor's race, there seems no doubt that it is Corzine's to lose.

There was a bit of a flareup this week with the revelations coming out of the Norcross tapes. Norcross is one of the south Jersey Dem political bigwigs who was taped in 2000 and 2001 offering his wisdom about Jersey politics. Much of it embarrassing but hard to say whether illegal. On the tapes he bragged about this contacts with Corzine. Forrestor and the Reps will try to take advantage of that. I suspect it will come and go as simply political bragging. Which is not to say there is more than a little fire behind the smoke. The present AG is clearly involved in slowing down if not stopping prosecutions of some of the Dem county chairs. And there are rumours that have reached even my ears, that Christie, the US Attorney for Jersey, will get in the act, specifically going after the Bergen County mogul. We'll see.

As for the Rep side, they have one or two good politicians over there but they can't seem to get daylight. Tom Kean's son, first name escapes me, seems impressive; and Diane Allen. Forrester and Schundler are Dem dream candidates.
