The main problem with peroxide is that it doesn't kill the the yeasts and you can get thrush. Using both periodically is probably not a bad idea. I've flossed with peroxide or Listerine in my mouth (requires practice so you don't drool!), but that way you can really disrupt the bacteria that may hide in pockets.
