Yes, it has already begun. Something is going to happen. Question is what? I see Fannie is down 6% today, maybe it will involve that...Maybe its a dollar crisis? Maybe it's something else? We could see one event or a number of events happen at the same time. My guess is that the USA has run out of silver bullets and everything comes home to roost this year. As I work in the hedge fund industry, this definitely sucks, because it's a bloody bubble at this point (assets under management versus quality of managers). I'm just glad I collected my bonus last year and I have converted all my liquid savings out of US Dollars.
