Daniel, nothing personal, but that just doesn't seem to make a lot of sense to me. Biased or not what are their choices? Not do a 56kb standard? Do one without x2? These just don't seem like useful options. These would just be petulent responses from a body that would only be diminishing itself.

I don't think ROK has opened up their intellectual property to the public domain as witnessed by their rattling their lawyers at USRX after they finished settling with MOT. The Townshend patents give COMS leverage back against ROK, now that COMS has paid and ROK hasn't. Besides ROK could easily spend more than 100K even if they could successfully defend themselves from it.

These patents just don't seem to me to be a significant barrier, French xenophobia notwithstanding.
