I must say I have less than a little respect for Swann's blathering, and I have even less credence in his "predictions." John, I don't see why an offer Tivo may have refused a while back would move the stock today. However, I do think Tivo has been in a strong enough strategic position to politely give Murdoch the finger. I think they've done it, I think DirecTV has reacted (thinking it could bully Tivo/call Tivo's "bluff"), and I think DirecTV now realizes it's no bluff - that they have to come back to Tivo with far more than they thought they'd have to.
