GOP has no soul. It sold a big portion to get Bush the Imbecile into office in 2000 and it sold the rest to go to war for oil.

Right now, with Bush the Tyrant in office, the GOP is running a serious and multigenerational soul-deficit with the dark side. The GOP would have to act in a seriously decent manner for decades in order to get into the black again.

Not going to happen.

Republicans love Delay as long as his criminal ways are under the media radar. They love that Delay is a sociopath who will do whatever it takes to consolidate one-party tyranny in the USA. Ditto their feelings for sociopath Bush.

If Delay becomes a big enough liability, the Republicans will throw him overboard and look for another sociopath to take his place. The ranks of the GOP have many such brutes so it won't be altogether that difficult a task.
