Less toxic than table salt and biodegradable as sugar, bio-diesel is derived from vegetable oils and is readily mixed with fossil-fuel-based diesel. Vehicles using biodiesel immediately produce less air pollution and have required no mechanical alterations to do so – a giant step in support of newer diesel-exhaust emission requirements.
