I think you may very well be right. The way I see it the right cheated to get Bush back in, then they tried to sell the idea that he had a mandate. Now they are getting a wake up call seeing that his social security plans are opposed by a huge majority of the population. And that opposition is growing as Bush speaks.

The saddest thing is this position on "life" may be the only part of the neocon agenda that could conceivably be considered religious, the rest of the agenda is war, class warfare against the poor, profiteering of the rich and against the basic principle of justice.

There may be a time where the republican voter will realize they are being sold a "bait and switch." Bush is not even being loyal to the republican principle of less government in people's lives, or fiscal responsibility. Sometimes I wonder when they are going to restart the inquisition and debtor's prison.
