Suppose a surgeon were to remove your cerebral cortex, but leave the rest of your brain intact. Properly performed, such an operation would leave your body alive- -assuming you were fed through a tube going into your stomach. Yet you would be incapable of consciousness of yourself, or reading, or speaking, or walking or..... any of those activities which make you YOU. Would removing that deeding tube be killing YOU? Or recognition of an existing situation? “The Permission to Destroy Life Unworthy of Life” provided the foundation for the Nazi philosophy that began with “mercy killing” and eventually led to the Holocaust. I call that a simplistic lie and challenge you to prove it. A great many sources fed into Naziism, some thousands of years old. If THAT was the only motivation for the Holocaust, why were Jewish physics and mathematics professors also sent to those death camps? Are you going to argue THEY were mentally defective too?
