I sure don't want them going broke, either. I've only purchased four cars before, and three were Fords and the Mazda Navajo (twin of Ford Explorer). What amazes me is that they've had me as a repeat customer, yet I cannot imagine buying another one at this point, except perhaps as a cheap used car. My brother finally bought a Ford, and it was the Focus, which has had many recalls and gets surprisingly low gas mileage. Remember that they jettisoned the reliable and efficient Escort for that sporty but unreliable Focus.

Every day I drive my Windstar I notice the weak brakes and wonder if that will be the day the head gasket blows (a problem that has persisted for many model years and may or may not have been fixed with the 3.8L engine redesign in '97). Those engines blew out at 70-85k and I'm at 71k.

I especially hate the dealers, btw, and bought my Windstar by FAX in '98.
