I didn't realize that thread protocol called for serial monologs--everybody offering their opinions in a vacuum. I was offering a critique on the stated basis for your opinion.

You are apparently confusing correlation with causation if you think, because Idahoans carry guns and have fewer murders, that Jerseyites would have fewer murders if they carried guns. That is a common logic fallacy hereabouts and sometimes I point it out in the hopes that it might register. If correlation were causation, then Newark should both grow more potatoes and carry more guns. If they did both, that would double the drop in their murder rate. <g>

So, that is my opinion on your opinion. If you want my opinion as to whether increasing gun carry in NJ would benefit the murder rate, I don't know enough about the subject to express one. What I do know enough about to express an opinion is correlation/causation, so that's what I addressed. You may be right that NJ would curb its murder rate if it increased gun carry, but you have not presented a valid rationale for that opinion. Perhaps you have some other alleged rationale in mind that you simply neglected to offer...
