JLA, No, opinion was and is not monolithic on that subject. Even on my critical-care listserv, there are a couple of dissenters--despite the overwhelming medical evidence that Terri Schiavo was, in fact, dead by all medical and legal criteria used to define death in this and other countries.

I still come back to, "What would she have wanted?" I believe that in her former lucid, alive state she had made her wishes known to her husband and to others, and that should have been the only thing worth consideration. - Holly
