One can race cars and not know much about the thermodynamics of heat engines. It's a very silly argument that someone has to have a heart attack to know anything about them. The same can be said about having opinions about animal husbandry or racing. A friend of mine got her 3 year old horse out of the horse meat auction. The animal had sprained its ankle and the owner wanted to be done with it. The bid was $0.50 a pound for little "Brownstone". She turned him into an Olympic quality jumper after some rehab, but mostly it was a pet. Bad investment for the owner so its off to the slaughterhouse? That doesn't seem very ethical. Is greyhound racing much different?
