Posting will likely be lite to non-existent for a day or three.

I will have reconstructive surgery on my ankle today.

I've been waiting for 8 1/2 months for this day. Last July, I
had an accident while on vacation in the Outer Banks. In
addition to my ankle injury, I severed my patellar tendon in
my right knee. The knee injury was so severe that it
precluded surgery to repair my ankle. I needed to begin rehab
to my knee immediately or face permanent disability.

While I still face several more months of knee rehab, I have
progressed to the point that reconstructive surgery on my
ankle will not have any significant effect on the knee. And
yes, there will be quite a bit of rehab needed for my ankle
too after a period of non-weight bearing convalescence (the
reason this surgery had to be delayed).

Onward & upward.

:-)
