Choosy! Welcome back! Now we are four (denizens of Poetry Corner)! Maybe some more will come out of the woodwork in due time. It is, after all, the season of poets (spring).
I would like to strike up a conversation about the power of poetry, not powerful poetry as some of that penned or posted by others of our group, but of poetry itself. Good, bad, indifferent.
I maintain that it is all good. Doggerel, free verse, iambic pentameter, limericks, all categories are good. Poetry need not be great to be good. It need not be good to be good.
I maintain that poetry is good because of its source, which, I believe, is usually somewhere very close to the soul.
