”Recent accounts of young school students shooting each other has sent a shiver through the nation; journalists call the killings an "epidemic" and legislators have begun debates on new gun control laws.”

Certainly any time the term of ‘young school students’ is couched within another issue, it raises the level of concern for all of us. When we hear the term or see it in print we envision our innocent little children being placed in harms way. We should all make every effort to eliminate every threat to these.

The shooters don’t qualify as one of the innocents, however, unless the shooting was an accident committed by toddlers thinking the gun was a toy, which is not what you were referring to.

The school student shooters are a symptom of social illness that is culturally based. The issues are complicated. Removing guns from the culture to address this would be analogous to placing a Band-Aid over the chest of someone who is suffering from lung cancer.
