I'd be surprised if some didn't make good pets but I've never personally worked with them. The ones I saw looked really hyper. But we all know, even a good dog can become a bad dog with poor treatment and training. Given that there are so many greyhounds, and if they truly DON'T make good pets as Bill says, then I don't see how this doesn't fall on the animal husbandry exploitation curve.

In the Navy, I knew a guy who had a wolf-dog hybrid back home. The way he described it, it wasn't a "good dog" in the sense that most people mean, but it was fine for hunting bears and guarding the back of his home. He kept it in a 10 foot tall kennel because it was aggressive towards anyone but him. Most states prohibit such "breeds" for good reason.
