Anatolia Hits Meters-Thick Bonanza Zone At Copler Wednesday April 6, 3:43 pm ET
Anatolia Minerals Development Limited (TSX:ANO)
Marble Zone CRC-263 cuts 6 meters @ 188 gm (6 Oz.) gold per tonne; 60-meter stepout cuts 5.8 grams gold per tonne from 1 to 98 meters, other stepouts in progress. Manganese Mine Zone gold area expands as +30-meter thick gold-rich manto zone is defined and delineated.
Anatolia Minerals Development Limited is pleased to announce the first two returns from drilling at the Marble Contact Zone at Copler, plus two dozen more holes from the Manganese Mine Zone. This drill program aims to expand the current 4-million-ounce inferred resource, infill drill the Marble Contact and Manganese Mine oxides and condemnation drill planned facilities sites. Drilling is expected to run through mid-2005. The maps attached to this news release will be posted to Anatolia's web site (www.anatolia-minerals.com).
By March 31, 59 reverse-circulation holes and 7 diamond core holes aggregating 12,357 meters were complete, primarily in the Manganese Mine area, with results received for more than 50 holes, some previously announced. Initial focus was on the Manganese Mine area, but 2 rigs were sent to the nearby Marble Contact Zone, with results for the first 2 holes just received. Some 6,544 meters were drilled in March (5,960 meters RC and 584 meters DD), with summary results given below (generally oxides, unless noted):

Unreported intervals and holes CRC-272, CRC-278, CRC-281 and CRC-288 had no significant results or just thin intervals of potential heap leach material. CRC-294, 500 meters northwest of the Manganese Mine pit, cut 3 meters of 1% copper and 1.3 grams gold at the marble/intrusive contact.
Richard C. Moores, President of Anatolia, stated, "We are very pleased with first returns from the Marble Contact Zone. Both holes extend mineralization significantly to the east, fill in blank spots from previous campaigns, but leave the door wide open for further expansion. Hole CRC-293 is a 50-meter step-out to the south of CRC-1A (82 meters @ 10 gpt gold), our previous best hole. Hole CRC-263 is the most easterly hole in that area of the Marble Contact Zone for which assays are available, although 50-meter step-outs are in progress. The high grade zone encountered in CRC-263 may help resolve a question plaguing us from our earliest days of drilling the Marble Contact Zone -'What were the ancients mining?' Nearly every hole drilled in the Marble Contact Zone encountered meters-wide voids interpreted as cavities from old workings, but assays from the rock adjacent to these voids, as in CRC-293, frequently carried from 10 to 20+ grams of gold. Now that we have moved past th! e mineable area easily explored from outcrop, we may be in for some happy results. This also applies to kilometers of unexplored marble contact in the valley, much of which is buried under rubble and was inaccessible to ancient prospectors."
Mr. Moores continued: "Our latest holes have really filled in the Manganese Mine area. A key development is the recognition and delineation of a consistent, predictable, gold-rich manto (blanket) straddling the intrusive/marble contact. We now have over 30 holes in the manto and it is averaging 30 to 40 meters thick and runs 4 to 5 grams gold per tonne. On average, some 30 meters of the manto is comprised of leachable material, the balance being sulfides. The gold-rich manto has been defined within an approximate +200 meter by +500 meter area (open) and seems to be part of a gold-rich shell enclosing the south-dipping intrusive, since holes passing through the intrusive have encountered a mirror-image manto on the other side. Lower grade gold values may continue for 10's to 100's of meters within the intrusive and there is a halo of low to intermediate grade gold mineralization in marble generally extending for more than 200 meters beyond the manto."
Anatolia is advancing the feasibility study for the oxide portion of the resource. In December 2004, a study by Hellman & Schofield Pty Ltd estimated a 0.4 million measured and indicated ounce oxide gold resource plus a 1.1 million ounce inferred oxide gold resource. Metallurgical tests indicate the leachability of this resource (+80% in the Main and Marble Contact Zones and approximately 90% in the Manganese Mine Zone). Additional metallurgical testing of oxides, continuation of baseline environmental studies, project design and facilities siting studies are proceeding as planned. Anatolia expects to complete the feasibility study and make a production decision later this year.

Anatolia has been engaged in minerals exploration in Turkey since 1996. In January 2004, Anatolia obtained 100% interest in the 4-million ounce inferred gold resource at Copler. Anatolia is fast-tracking work at Copler to achieve an early production decision for an open pit gold operation for the shallow leachable oxide portion of Copler. The Company also controls approximately 1.1 million hectares within Turkey, including four properties currently under joint exploration with Rio Tinto. The Rio Tinto agreement continues through 2007 and requires payment by Rio Tinto of expenditures for grassroots programs, specific prospect costs in which Rio Tinto is participating, and portions of Anatolia's Turkish field office expenses.
Anatolia currently has 49.0 million common shares issued and outstanding, 57.7 million fully diluted.
