*AV*--all other bottlenecks pale by comparison. In the case of ASMLF and their i-line series of steppers, the were most definitely constrained by the number of lenses supplied by Zeiss and the yields on those lenses coming from Zeiss. Most of the stepper manufacturers have enough internal capacity to handle upsides in orders. Some have warehouse space to expnad into while others would just have to add a working shift like a 3rd shift or a weekend crew. A vast majority of the sub assemblies and components are easily available with short lead times, if a ramp were imminent. High quality lenses have always been and will probably always be a constraint for the steppers. As long as you mentioned Corning, let us not forget the old Perkin Elmer lens division (the name escapes me right now) that made the optics for the hubble telescope. IT is my understanding they are a quality provider of lenses for ISI or mayber even SVGL. Cranking out quality lenses has been the #1 issue in my book for the past tears.

HOWEVER, when you consider the size of CYMI and its capabilities today, I am not 100% certain that they might not be a future bottleneck for the DUV excimer laser sources. EVERYONE of the stepper manufacturers, I believe, has designed the CYMI source into their system. If all the companies ramp up with this CYMI being sole source, the fur will fly.
