How can we not argue about guns if you insist on discussing them? No good ever comes from this. I detest the NRA because of assault weapons. I detest the NRA because I don't even believe in the interpretation of the 2nd amendment that you do. I think, historically, it specifically referred to a well-armed militia. I detest the NRA because I find Charlton Heston repulsive. I detest the NRA because too many innocent civilians and animals are killed by guns in America. I detest it so much it is one of the primary reasons I think continuously of living in Europe. My feelings are very strong, just like yours. I agree that the society has underlying ills, but I strongly suspect that staunch NRA supporters are the very last people who would spend the money or make the effort to solve them, which would have to include some sort of income redistribution and much better schools. Universal daycare and no hungry children in America! Now do you see how far away we are from each other on this subject? What could possibly be gained from discussing it?
