"For those who do not want to link, says pessimism may be extreme in AMD."

I'm guessing the "pessimism factor" explains the current $7 price differential between INTC and AMD.

Perhaps the combination of better than expected Q1 results (i.e. no warning) and a very, very upbeat CC will rapidly close this $7 differential.

Seems to me that AMD's relative competitive position has strengthened enormously since Opteron was introduced and that AMD is currently positioned more strongly than at any time in its history. Meanwhile market pessimism towards AMD is approaching an all-time high.

The current dichotomy between AMD's relative competitive strength and market pessimism has set the stage for some explosive price movement in the near term. (I'm guessing in response to Q1 earnings and CC)
