The Formerly Mainstream Media (FMSM) got a memo from a Democrat Senate office that was talking point on the Terri Schiavo case. The FMSM attributed it to senior Republican Senate leaders, or Circulated by Republican Leadership, etc. The memo was supposed to show how Republicans could benefit from the case, and how they could make Democrats suffer because of their positions. Yesterday or the day before freshman Senator Mel Martinez (R-Fl) discovered that a junior legal council in his office had authored the memo, complete with typos and bad grammar. He terminated the young man's employment. The FMSM's headlines were about how they were vindicated, because Republicans had indeed authored the note. There were no retractions or apologies from the FMSM for exaggerating the importance of the memo. It is apparent that the memo was only widely circulated after Democrats got a hold of it. Perhaps they think Mel fired the staffer for circulating a memo with bad grammar and typos.
