Arbinet Named to the Russell 2000 and Russell 3000 Indexes

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J., April 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Arbinet-thexchange, Inc. (Nasdaq: ARBX - News), the world's leading electronic market for trading, routing and settling communications capacity, today announced the company was added to the Russell 2000® and Russell 3000® Indexes, effective March 31, 2005.

"Arbinet's designation as a member of the Russell indexes is another milestone for our Company," said Curt Hockemeier, Arbinet president and chief executive officer. "We are proud of what we have accomplished with the support of our Membership."

Russell Investment Group produces 21 U.S. equity indexes, which are used by investment managers and institutional investors for index funds and as benchmarks for both passive and active investment strategies. The indexes are market cap-weighted and include only common stocks incorporated in the United States and its territories. All indexes are subsets of the Russell 3000 Index, which measures the performance of the 3,000 largest U.S. companies based on total market capitalization.

Arbinet has 360 voice and 236 data members, including nine of the top ten communications companies, who trade, route and settle communications capacity using Arbinet's easy-to-use Web-based trading platform. Members use the exchange to better manage their cost of service, improve route quality, and tap new markets without extensive network build-out.
