Wiring Moscow--Moscow CableCom Corp. is bringing broadband to Moscow, Russia.

Moscow CableCom is the parent company of ComCor-TV, a Russian company that is in the process of wiring the City of Moscow to provide broadband services including cable television, high-speed Internet access and IP-based telephony to residential and business customers. Moscow CableCom is working in partnership on this venture with an affiliate of the City of Moscow.

ComCor-TV is leveraging its exclusive rights to provide its services via COMCOR's Moscow Fiber Optic Network (MFON), the largest high-speed transportation network in Moscow, built with over $400M of City funds in a project started in 1992. Utilizing the MFON backbone, ComCor-TV provides a "last mile" solution that gives residential and business customers access to an array of broadband services.

Through this highly sophisticated interactive fiber optic network, Moscow CableCom is giving Muscovites access to information and advanced communications services at least equal to that of modern western cities.
