A chain hospital around Seattle just built a freestanding ER a few miles out, to cherry pick those delicious ER fees. However, the policy maker Doc has ruled that county ambulances must bypass them and go to an ER attached to a real hospital. The ER cost $20 million, and of course they will be looking to get back on their business investment as quickly as possible.
