No, explicitly not. In fact, Rivet's explanation was that switching from 200mm to 300mm wafers, and going from 90nm to 65nm were both large steps, so doing one first (90nm on 300mm) would reduce risk.

I'm curious to see if we can get any data on comparing 200mm and 300mm yields after they start making 90nm chips on 300mm. I heard from some good sources their (not naming companies) low-k dielectrics would literly flake off on the edges and this was directly related to moving to 300mm. Of course IBM has been doing 300mm for a little while now so hopefully AMD will have a lower learning curve compared to Intel due to the IBM partnership.
