OT MulhollandDrive, RE: "this guy "breathing down my neck" Almost sounds like he was drafting you, or maybe he had a crush on you. ((I've had guys I don't know ask if they could draft to save some energy. For those that don't do bicycle centuries, drafting is riding close to the person ahead of you to draft the wind for improved speed.) Always felt one could judge a person's character by how they bike on a century. My bicycling buddies and I would always circle to the back of the group to make sure the last person was okay if they had fallen behind. But I noticed not all bikers in other groups did this. I always admired the guys with the polite biking skills. Regards, Amy J
