The NRA killed another victim today with its dishonest crusade to make assault rifles available to every tom, dick and harry, even those with kids who know how to get into daddy's gun closet. 12,000 gun murders a year in the USA. 350 a year in Canada. Canada has more guns per capita too. So who's to blame? The rightwing spirit of the NRA, that guns are symbols of phallic power and shooting them is cool. Because when the NRA types collect guns they're not just for hunting or self-defense, they're for taking offensive action, just in case of Armageddon, or every time the medication runs out, or their repressed kids take too much medication. The NRA says guns = freedom, but me-thinks they're just so paranoid that if anyone found out how dangerous and nutty they were, they wouldn't be allowed to own firearms. Not all of them just a lot of them.
