Yes, it is very complicated. If we slide into recession, I think it will be global (especially China), so oil prices should ease - maybe substantially - and that will help.

I assume Greenspan will stop raising rates, but there are other factors impacting longer rates. We might see something unusual for a couple of years, a slower economy and higher interest rates.
