FBR is Friedman Billings Ramsey (a small shop outside DC). The only reason I quoted them was they are only recent report on AMD other than Pru.

"Our checks at AMD chipset vendors indicate expectations for a 15-20% quarter over quarter unit decline for 1Q. This is slightly worse than the typical 10-15% Q-o-Q decline for 1Q, which is what we are expecting from Intel."

It goes on to say that Q2 will then have a 5-10% decline from Q1, also worse than seasonal and Intel (about 5% decline).

So I think FBR is inferring that while the 10-12% decline might be correct for market as a whole, it will be weighted to more Intel and less AMD.
