To all on the thread:
I've got an idea. When I buy a stock, it invariably goes down. When I short it, it of course goes up (as did AVNT today). So, how about I sell my ASND long position and, for good measure, I then short another 10,000 shares?
If I enter such a short position, then the stock is GUARANTEED to go up (heck, Lucent will probably tender for ASND the very next day), making all of you a very tidy profit (of course, some of you may be short, but then I apologize that your lack of faith in the company has caused you to be aligned with my own position, one bound to be the wrong position).
After all of you close out your day trades, I'm sure you'll want to thank me by chipping in enough funds to cover my losses, my commissions and perhaps even my margin calls.
Good luck trading tomorrow!
