"Analyst Joe Osha at Merrill Lynch, for one, upgraded a host of semiconductor stocks on Wednesday because their valuations seemed low."

( It certainly feels painfully low, that's for sure )

On a different note, interesting comments here:

"The presss has talked about shortages of Sonoma, which is probably due to demand exceeding forecast. This can probably be rectified within a few months by just increasing the wafer starts since I presume that Intel has reserve wafer start capacity.

However I am also hearing about shortages of XSCALE for PDA/Smartphones. These probably involve stacked chip assemblies, which takes specialized packaging equipment and operations. This may take longer to rectify."
