When they were doing some excavation for NIF (Nuclear Ignition Facility) they discovered a bunch of camel bones. Wouldn't it be cool to do tourism back in time? I guess that's only possible in the movies.... sniff.

Ironically, the running of cattle in modernity actual improves the environment as long as it isn't overdone. Large grazing predators were a part of California for a long time. It would take a lot of cattle to compete with one Mammoth, wouldn't it?

So, if we stopped eating meat, what would we do with our hillsides? I know the ones that get light cattle grazing tend to be more biodiverse than ones that get none. Those get overgrown with weeds.
