One thing that you might try is to pull down the File menu and select Archive. This should tell you where your emails have been archived.

A lot will depend on which version of Outlook you are using. Probably the best thing to do is to pull down the Help menu, select Contents and Index, click on either Index or Search, find "Archive" and read the help information. It should tell you how to retrieve your archived messages.
