Ok, I'll accept that. But it wasn't like Reagan was working from some great plan. The weapon systems exceeded expectations, they were gamed at around 60% effectiveness, but in the field were much higher than that. Even a 60% effectiveness would have changed the balance, but they exceeded that by a wide margin. How much we will never know, the mujahadin were claiming in the high 90s for the Stinger. But even if the percentage was in the 80s, that means that every fielded platoon can kill a Hind and a T-70. And that meant any attempt at taking Europe, which was the goal, would fail in a few days. They needed a month to meet reasonable plans.
