How so? GM was previously the Microsoft of the 60s, number one market cap, GM goes way back and many, many people are now on its health care retirement plan. Toyota doesn't even come close. Additionally, my friend from Japan implied the govt picks up health care during retirement, not the corporations, though the later point I could be wrong.

But certainly, GM is a corporation that has been around for many, many years, with the largest # of employees at many times, and so has the largest # of retires.
