I think everyone should have the right to defend themselves. But I think just assuming that most people are going to be assholes all the time will create a place that is exactly like that, as well. Self perpetuating. Could we all try to move on or something? If there are people you don't want to interact with, just don't. Put them on Ignore. Don't answer their posts. But why have big ugly public fights constantly? You feed into exactly the energy that you don't like, and criticize. You become as bad as your enemies that way.

I don't want Feelies to be a big argument about personalities. I accept that arguments about issues are interesting sometimes, if two people agree to argue. That is different, and often stimulating. And while it is sometimes true that "You are, who you run with", I have friends who move back and forth effortlessly between different "gangs" at SI. I do not understand the idea that because I may not like someone, none of my friends can like that person either. I think it is so first grade. And it makes situations worse, instead of better.
