More Dell rumours:

Dell executives also acknowledged that they have received an uptick in interest from their customers in semiconductors from Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD).

Dell traditionally uses only Intel Corp. (INTC) chips.

"There's been a marginal increase in interest" in AMD chips among Dell customers, said Jeff Clarke, senior vice president in Dell's enterprise product group. "But we haven't seen wholesale request from our customer base."

Perhaps they should start giving daily updates on upticks and downticks in customer demand for Opteron. But, I hear you saying, "But then we won´t know what happens for the rest of the day!". A real-time ticker would be the way to go here, one that can be integrated into the Firefox toolbar. Once it drifts into "wholesale"-territory, an alarm bell would sound off. Same for "dropping through the floor"-territory, but a somewhat
different sound to avoid confusion.
