That's why you won't ever lead the party. Not that you couldn't if you wanted to, but you don't want to. I have repeatedly said since I started this thread the coming political battle in the Republican party is between the eagles and the social conservatives. Right now the social conservatives rule. That is because the southern Republicans rule. It will take an electable Calfornia eagle to change that. The votes there and in other moderate states like Penn will swing the balance from the south. But it's a way off yet. TWT.
