I fear this Searle that we the people are no longer the prime purpose of the political establishment. The social security issue to me was not thought out as teaching children proves abilities differ in all of us. That was at least one method to force savings on those who had not the ability to see much farther than where the next dollar was coming from or who will issue them the next credit card. There was some protection from total poverty for the people and less problems for the all.
