ALmost all domestic terrorism has been rightwing since the early 70's when the anti war movement was both exploding and reacting to events like Kent State. The entire militia movement is a potential terrorist threat. And the "right to life" movement is filled with violent wackos who dream of death.

Actually, I was up in San Francisco a few years ago talking to some far left types and found they are complete pacifists. They don't believe in violence at all, for any reason. So much for your theory. The Unabomber was a strange isolated case and not involved with any group or cause other than one of his own imagination. In fact, he lived just like a rightwing survivalist. His agenda was anti-corporate but also anti-technology and liberals love high-tech. So it's wrong to call him a leftist. he's just a mad genius nut.
