Johan...
I have to disagree with you that X-com is a puny game...
they had initial shipments of 120,000..with re-orders already..
I will agree with that it is not a blockbuster game...but it is a very solid game, when it comes to revenue...it will most likely sell
more then 300,000 units before the end of its product cycle...
I would compare it to MOO2 that was released last November
which is still on the shelf at the computer city stores here in Hawaii
and seem to be selling fairly well, but I will add at a price reduction
to $29.95...but how many titles do you see staying in the retail
chain for almost a year...as for X-com in Hawaii..they initially
received about 40-50 copies, I actually stopped by today and
they had about 150 copies on display...and if you rest sbyt hopes
on just those two games then the price should relatively be the same
as it is now (5's) after the dust settles..because last year we did have two blockbusters (civ2,gp2)..in my opinion it's solid games being
being delivered on a consistent basis that will drive SBYT's growth.
