Not sure mine will ever be pain free, BUT it is so much better than it was that essentially, I try not to complain about it...(unless it gets really swollen again...<g>) But just keep doing whatever they tell you, and each day will get better. Listen to what your Doc says about the length of time it will take to heal....I didn't want to believe him, because I thought "I was better than the average"....Well, he was right. What we forget is that medicine is so much better these days, and they really do know much more then they did, even 5 years ago. Tissues, tendons, bones, etc just take time to heal. Especially tendons and ligaments...The body just takes time to heal. Period. Didn't even know what these things did until a few years ago....trust me...NOW I DO! <ggg>
