I worked at Toyota Motor Corporation in Toyoda, Japan for about a year in 1989, the lone American in a building of 500-600 Japanese. International Purchasing Department! It was a pretty interesting, albeit not very fun, experience.

LOL. I had a Japanese guy staying with me for a couple of months. Apparently, the guy was the son of a well off manufacturer from one of the northern islands. His habits were a little weird to me.......particularly when he would slurp his food. However, the weirdest thing is one night we were eating dinner when he started crying. I figured he was homesick.....after all, he had just been married for two years and his wife had a little baby just before he left Japan to come to the US. In fact, he was crying because he did not want to go back. I almost fell off my chair. It was very strange.
