Smithee, That is odd. I thought ALL states had and enforced helmet laws for motorcyclists.

Some say that the helmets cut down on their abilities to see and hear what is around them and perhaps avoid an accident. The helmet does not protect from neck or other spinal injuries and can, in fact, increase the occurrences of neck and other spinal injuries.

Personally, there is not enough money in the world to get me up on a motorcycle. Motorcycle helmets? I don't have a whole heap of faith in the protective properties of anything that comes in a box marked "Fragile."

The fact is that motorcyclists, when they collide with an immovable object, tend to get very thoroughly banged up, very often rendering their organs useless for transplantation, whereas skiers and snowboarders usually are nicely bundled up in well-padded garb and gear, thus protecting their organs from the trauma their motorcycling brethren sustain. - Holly
