Ok, people, you heard it here first. Java makes no sense. It is destined to be linked in history to the Edsel. It has no business application.

But, you say, Java is being offered as a communications paradigm of the future. Fine how significant is that? Test: Can you name the software that your phone runs on?

It is being promoted as an "open" operating system by the two most proprietary Hardware Manufacturers on the planet.

Remember the PowerPC? The world's fastest chip on an operating system that hasn't been invented yet? Remember the MicroChannel, past wave-of-the-future to connect PCs? Remember Taligent? The unification of Apple and IBM? Remember PowerComputing, who Apple just yanked the rights to produce compatable clones. This bait and switch of the "open" operating system...open until the next release.

The really important news is that the whisper is that taligent will be renamed SpyderFly Computer Corp.

Don't forget to "Bookmark this page".
