Your tales are interesting. Cartel agreements during the inter-war era are even more so. Reports on German patent and marketing agreements numbered in the THOUSANDS. They were explicit and took many forms. Sometimes they were geographical, other times they were technical or scientific. Areas of greatest concentration, as far as I could determine, were Nitrogen, pharmaceutical products, petro-chemicals, and dyestuffs. Hydrogenation and synthesis of petro products from coal also was an issue.
At one time, they seemed the only worth area of historical inquiry. Alas, AA doomed my research. Personally, I doubt anyone, any longer, cares.
