I guess I'll close this thread down with a few final comments.
1)It would be nice if managemant knew the systems they manage. Then
when a programmer needs some help, at least they could do more than
pop off and point fingers. Maybe they could steer efforts in the
proper direction.
2)Programmers are the final scapegoat. Management leaves little/no
room for error when they fail to act on estimates/recommendations to
keep decrepit systems working. And, unlike mgmt., programmers might
make a mistake, further delaying resolution.
3)Management should support(back up) their workers when questions
arise.
4)Accounting spun a Catch 22 situation in VF which appeared to give
them the insidious opportunity to complain at any time. Shame on them!
I will not be a whipping boy for the accounting dept.! If you think
programmers are useless overhead, where are your bills now?
