Semi-automatics assault rifles set a dangerous precedent. They can be turned into fully automatic, therefore allowing potential terrorists, criminals or other wackos to go on rampages such as we've seen in the past.

We can never make the country completely safe from firearms abuse, but the most glaring offenders must be taken over the market, like tech-9's and AK-47's as well as large magazines, cop-killer bullets and whatever else the Police don't want to contend with. Experience has shown that these weaspons eventually fall into tyhe wrong hands, including the hands of the gun-owners kids. I know as a kid I was always fooling around with my dad's rifle, no matter where he hid it. Kids will be kids. So why tempt fate? And who needs these weapons anyway? for what purpose? Their only purpose is to kill human beings. A good handgun or shotgun is more than enough for home protection.
